Michael Downs, professor of English at Towson University, will discuss his latest publication, The Strange and True Tale of Horace Wells. This work of historical fiction is a story of narcotic dreams and waking insanity; of humbug and miracle; of pain’s destruction and what pains can never be eased. Copies of the novel will be available for purchase and light refreshments will be served. The event will take place in Cook Library, Room 507.
